Leave the bustle of Baku behind and journey north into the Greater Caucasus Mountains for a day of mountain scenery, crisp alpine air and thrill rides at Shahdag Mountain Resort, Azerbaijan’s premier year-round alpine destination.

Your day begins with a comfortable pick-up from your Baku hotel in a private air-conditioned vehicle. As you head north along the Caspian coast, enjoy scenic views of the changing landscape – from coastal plains to dramatic mountain passes.

Our first stop is the historic city of Quba, nestled at the foot of the mountains. Take a brief break to stretch your legs, enjoy traditional Azerbaijani tea and admire the famous Red Settlement (Qırmızı Qəsəbə) across the river.

Next, head higher into the mountains to reach Shahdag Mountain Resort (2,500 metres above sea level). Here, you will experience the resort’s flagship attraction: the Shahdag Alpine Coaster. Strapped into your individual sled, control your own speed as you glide down 2,590 metres of winding steel tracks with sharp turns and drops against a snow-capped or lush green mountain backdrop.

After the coaster, take the panoramic cable car to the upper mountain stations for views across the valley. Depending on the season, enjoy optional resort activities such as skiing and snowtubing in winter or the zip line and archery in summer.
