Goygol region with its natural beauty is one of the regions with the greatest potential in terms of tourism development. Hacıkand and Goygol forests are the main recreation centers of the zone.

Tours are organized in various directions to the Goygol region, which has amazing natural beauty. 40 km away from the center of Goygol is the Goygol Reserve.
The distance to Baku is 364 km. Goygol is located 10 km south of the city of Ganja, at the foot of the Murovdag range of the Lesser Caucasus. Being in the Kura River basin, the Ganjachay River passes through Goygol. The city is located on the Baku-Kazakh railway.
The highest peak of the region is Gamishdag with a height of 3,724 meters in the Murovdag range. There are 15 thousand 802 hectares of forest area and Kepaz mountain, Goygol, Maralgöl, Karagöl, Ördekgöl, Zeligöl, Ağgol, Aynagöl, Shamliggol, as well as other small lakes in the territory of the district.
Goygol district is located in the mountainous and foothill zone in the west of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the highest point is 3724 meters above sea level. Goygol has a humid subtropical climate. Winters are mostly mild and the snow cover is not very persistent.
Landscapes, forest cover, and historical and cultural monuments in the region provide a real opportunity for the development of tourism.
Currently, there are many tourist facilities in the region, the number of which continues to increase every year. During the year, on average, about 3,000 tourists come to the region for recreation. All of them are citizens of the country. In addition, in the summer season, tourists from all over the Republic come to the region, rent private houses and rest here. The tourist infrastructure in the region operates and develops not in a complex way but in a retail way.
It is planned to develop tourism mainly in 5 directions in the territory of the region:
1. Goygol – Ashıgli – Hajikand – Goy-Gol;
2. Goygol – Topalhasanli – Zurnabad – Shahriyar;
3. Goygol – Koshku – Uchbulag;
4. Goygol – Gusgara – Balchili;
5. Goygol City.
It is possible to develop mainly rural and ecological tourism in these areas.
Goygol region is rich in historical and cultural monuments in addition to its charming nature. There are 31 locally significant historical and architectural art monuments of the XII, XIV, XVI, and XIX centuries in the territory of the district, 8 of them are mounds, necropolises, and open camps, and others are buildings and bridges. A German church called "Lutheran" was built-in 1854 in the city of Khanlar, a two-eyed bridge from the 16th century, a three-eyed bridge built in 1896, a White bridge from the 12th century, 9 architectural and artistic monuments built by the Germans in the 19th century in the territory of the villages of Balchili and Uchbulag "Giz-castle", whose date is unknown, a barrow belonging to the Iron Age in the village of Köşkü, there are graves belonging to the end of the Bronze Age and the beginning of the Iron Age in the territory of the villages of Balçılı and Gushgara.
