Cultural life of Zagatala

The cultural life of Zagatala is distinguished by its diversity. In Zagatala, along with Azerbaijanis, there are representatives of more than 20 nations - Avar, Lezgi, Tsakhur, Russian, Tatar, and Inghiloy.


Zaqatala Regional Museum. There are 252 cultural facilities (cultural house, club ‚library, museum, historical and cultural reserve, historical monument, etc.) on the territory of the international district.

Makov village, Zagatala.The village is mainly inhabited by Avars. The main occupations of the population are grain, tobacco, hazelnut and vegetable growing, gardening, and livestock breeding. Fish lovers can visit the "Forel Community" located in Makov village. Forel Union has been operating since 1978. This is also called "fishing recreation center". Trout fish are grown in this area.
