Cultural life of Lerik

The art of weaving and wood carving was more developed in Lerik. The art of carpet weaving continues to grow in Lerik to this day.


The carpet is a dowry of the woman, who is getting married, it could be said that carpets are woven almost in every home. In addition, there has been a carpet weaving workshop in Lerik for many years. The carpets of various types are decorated with national ornaments. There are also carpet weaving shops in Piresora, Bаlaband, and Noda villages of the district. 

Other arts, related to painting, spinning, and weaving among the Lerik population, still exist to this day as well as blacksmithing in ancient Shingadulan and Shonachola villages still exist to this day.

THE MUSEUM OF LONG-TERM LIFE

More than 500,000 people had ever lived in this mountainous area. Today, the region has more than 20 residents, who are over 100 years old. the Museum of the Century is the only museum in the world. 

More than 2000 exhibits - documents, photographs, etc. are displayed in the museum.
